ORIGIN AND MEANING OF FAMILY NAME:  The name Yeiser was anciently found as Jazier, Jesor, Jayser.

THE FOUR JAYSER BROTHERS AND TWO COUSINS
CAME TO "THE NEW WORLD"

A family of JAYSER's had at least two sons, the first had at least four sons. The second son had at least two sons.
The four brothers (Jacob, Wilhelm G., Englehardt, and Frederich C.) and two cousins (Johann George and Johann Joachim) came to "THE NEW WORLD" of NORTH AMERICA, later to become 'THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." Records show these to be the FIRST GENERATION of Jayser's (now Yeiser) in the Colonies.


1736 -- Jacob Jayser, the oldest;
Qualified 1 September, 1736, having arrived from
Rotterdam on the ship "Harle" (Ralph Harle, Master).
1743 -- Frederich Jayser, the youngest;
Qualified 7 October, 1743, having arrived from Rotterdam
on the ship "St. Andrew" (Robert Brown, Captain).
1750 -- Englehardt Jayser, the next to youngest;
Took Oath 23 October, 1750, having arrived from
Rotterdam on the ship "Sandwich" (Hazelwood, Captain).
1752 -- Wilhelm Gottlieb Jayser, the next to oldest;
Took Oath 23 October, 1752, having arrived from
Rotterdam on the ship "Rawley" (John Grover, Captain).
1752 -- Johann George Jayser, the older cousin;
Took Oath 20 October, 1752, having arrived from
Rotterdam on the ship "Duke of Wirtenburg"
(Daniel Montpelier, Captain).
1753 -- Johann Joachim Jayser, younger cousin;
Took Oath 27 September, 1753, having arrived from
Rotterdam on the ship "Windsor" (John Goad, Captain).
